Heating and Cooling
Keep consistently comfortable temperatures all year long by upgrading to heat pump heating and cooling. Heat pumps pull heat from the air or ground and use it to heat your home during the colder months. During the summertime, they flow in reverse and use a refrigerant to cool your home just like an air conditioner.
Water Heating
Standard water heating accounts for about 20% of a home’s energy use,* but a heat pump water heater uses 2–3 times less energy. That’s because heat pump water heaters don’t generate heat directly—they use electricity to move heat from one place to another, so you won’t think twice about steamy shower or soothing soak in the tub.
Clothes Dryer
Heat pump clothes dryers run quieter, with advanced moisture sensors that prevent over drying, so they’re gentler on fabric. Plus, since they don’t need to vent to the outside, they’re easy to install just about anywhere in your home.
Electric Convection Oven and Induction Cooktop
Boil water in a blink with induction. An induction cooktop heats water 50% faster than a gas stove and is about three times more efficient.* It heats only the pan and the food inside it, so the smooth glass surface is cooler to the touch and spills can be wiped up while you cook.
Convection ovens offer faster and more even baking, customizable broil temperatures, self-cleaning, and keep-warm settings. The powerful convection fan evenly circulates hot air, so no worries about burning the cookies, whether they’re baking on the top or bottom shelf. Plus, you can air fry meals right in your oven!
Air Sealing and Insulation
Air seal and insulate your home to maximize the efficiency of your heat pump, control energy costs, and be more comfortable year-round.
Energy System Upgrades
An all-electric home needs sufficient amperage and new breakers for each of the appliances. Your existing panel will be evaluated and upgraded if necessary. This can also prepare you to add more outlets, an electric vehicle, or solar panels in the future.
Heat Pump Pool Heater
You can receive a free energy-efficient heat pump pool heater as part of Con Edison’s Electric Advantage Program. And with it, from May to September, covered pool owners could save about $143 and uncovered pool owners could save around $1,008.**
Unlike heaters that require natural gas/propane, heat pump pool heaters use electricity, to move heat that is naturally available, from the outdoors into the water.
Benefits include:
- Lower annual operating costs than gas
- Offers even and consistent heat once it reaches your ideal temperature
- Lasts longer than other gas pool heaters with proper maintenance
- Produces no carbon monoxide and has a lower carbon footprint

Out With the Old
Your old kitchen, laundry, and water-heating appliances will be removed, and the fossil fuel lines inside your home will be capped when your electric appliances are installed. Your old heating appliances may be kept in place for a short time after the heat pump installation while you transition to an all-electric building. We’ll remove your gas meter and disconnect the natural gas main permanently after we know that your all-electric building is running smoothly.
Optimized Electric Rate
The Select Pricing Plan is a billing option designed to provide you with new ways to manage your energy use and costs. See how the Select Pricing Plan may be a good fit for your newly all-electric home if you can shift and stagger your energy use. Get more info
