Con Edison Praises NYS Budget’s Emphasis on Clean Energy

Con Edison is encouraged that the final state budget for fiscal 2024 includes provisions that continue New York State’s leadership in the transition to electrification and away from fossil fuels. We support the State’s environmental goals and, per our Clean Energy Commitment, have pledged to provide our customers with 100 percent clean energy by 2040. 

Also, as the electricity provider for the largest city in America, we keenly appreciate all that is required to decarbonize our state’s buildings. We are glad to see provisions that will establish decarbonization action plans for 15 of the highest-emitting state buildings.
