How to Submit an Electricity Meter Reading

Email Us Please include your account number in the body of the email, and make sure the numbers on the meter are readable in your photo.

How to Read a Meter With Dials

  • RULE 1

    If the arrow is between two numbers, always select the lower number, except when between 0 and 9. In that case, you'd select 9 since the 0 represents 10.

  • Rule 2

    If the arrow is on a number. look at the dial to the right. If the right dial points to a number greater than 4, subtract 1. If the dial is between 9 and 0, subtract 1 since the 0 represents 10.

  • Rule 3

    If the arrow is on a number, look at the dial to the right. If that dial’s arrow is between 0 and 1, record the number as the arrow indicates.

  • Rule 4

    On the rightmost dial only, if the arrow is pointing directly at a number, record that number.

How to Read a Meter With a Digital Display

If your meter has a digital display, simply enter the numbers exactly as they appear.

If you recently stopped service and have a smart meter, your final bill will be based on your actual usage up until when your service stops. If not, your final bill will be estimated based your past energy use. Don’t want an estimate bill?
