Con Edison Workers Headed to Gulf Coast to Aid with Hurricane Ida Restoration
Con Edison is readying 40 workers and equipment to send to the Gulf Coast region to help restore overhead power lines and electric equipment following the devastation wrought by Hurricane Ida.
Crews from Con Edison Company of New York and Orange and Rockland Utilities are preparing supplies, vehicles and equipment, and expect to begin the drive to the Gulf Coast early Monday.
Energy companies regularly send workers to other regions to help repair equipment and restore service as quickly as possible in the wake of extreme weather events.
