The good news is that with proper insulation and air and duct sealing, you can maximize your home’s efficiency and comfort, saving energy and money year-round. No more drafty rooms in the winter or sweating in your home in the summer!

How It works

1. Choose a contractor from our list below, or if you have another contractor that you’d prefer to work with, they can register here.
2. The contractor will visit your home and recommend energy-saving upgrades, like installing insulation in your attic, walls, and or crawlspace, as well as sealing up air and duct leaks. They’ll also tell you how much it will cost after Con Edison’s contribution.
3. The contractor performs the work and subtracts the incentive amount from your final invoice. No waiting around for rebates!

To be eligible, you must:

Live in or own a single-family home or a 2-to-4 family home, and have one of the following:

• Con Edison gas for heating
• Con Edison electricity for heating
• Delivered fuel (like oil, propane,) for heating and Con Edison electricity for cooling.

Incentives

Con Edison will cover up to 70% of the cost of installing eligible Weather Ready upgrades with the following incentives.

We have the following special rates for customers that use geothermal or air-source heat pumps for heating and cooling:

***In addition to incentives provided by Con Edison on qualifying insulation and air sealing efforts, customers making eligible energy-efficient home improvements may also qualify for a tax credit of up to $1,200. Expenses such as those associated with qualifying efficiency improvements, residential energy property expenses, and home energy audits may qualify for a credit equaling 30% of the expense. Customers performing insulation and air sealing measures that may qualify for the additional tax credit, are encouraged to file Form 5695, Residential Energy Credit Part II with their tax return to claim the credit for the year of installation. How Contractors are Ranked

To be ranked, a Participating Contractor must submit more than 10 projects in a calendar year to the Con Edison Clean Heat or Weather Ready Program.

• 35% is based on the total number of applications they’ve successfully processed for a contractor company compared to those they’ve submitted to Con Edison’s Clean Heat or Weather Ready Program.
• 35% is based on the inspection pass rate, factoring in program guidelines and quality insurance checks.
• 30% is based on the project flaw rate, which compares the number of flawed projects to the total jobs completed, considering the overall quality of the submissions.

Contractor Ranking Analysis Levels

Gold: A score of 80–100%.
Silver: A score of 60–80%.
Bronze: A score of 40–60%.
