Enroll in Smart Usage Rewards for an Additional $85

If you have a Con Edison electric account and central air conditioning, a Wi-Fi network, and an eligible smart thermostat, you may qualify for an $85 rebate through your thermostat's manufacturer, either Nest, Honeywell Total Connect Comfort, Honeywell Home, Emerson Sensi or Amazon.

How It Works

When you enroll, you’ll allow us to make brief, limited adjustments to your smart thermostat settings when demand is high to reduce strain on the energy grid. You are always in control and can override the settings at any time.

The summer adjustment periods for electric participants will typically last no longer than four hours (limited to four hours for Nest customers) and would likely take place between 11 a.m. and 11 p.m. on weekdays.

We Collect and Use Information for Program Purposes
Consistent with our Privacy Policy, we collect and use information from programs in which you voluntarily participate. Your participation in the program gives Con Edison permission to use your information for program purposes, including to offer, enable, manage your participation in, provide support for, and improve the program.

We will share your information with third-party service providers in connection with program purposes. A third-party service provider will validate that you should be awarded the $85 per enrolled thermostat program rebate that you may be eligible to receive, and the $25 per thermostat incentive that you can be awarded for participating in fifty percent of event hours starting in your third season of participation in the program. Your information may be retained by the third-party service provider for up to four years to validate your status to be awarded the $25 per thermostat annual incentive.

Your information shared for program purposes consists of your name, email address, service address, Con Edison account number, thermostat serial number, activation date, account status, runtime data, temperature and humidity sensor data, set-points, device usage and technical data, and details related to your program eligibility, enrollment and participation in the program. We store and safeguard your information consistent with our Privacy Policy, and you can contact Con Edison at any time to ask that your information be removed from our storage systems. Your participation in the program remains entirely voluntary. Your information will be retained only to the extent necessary to fulfill program objectives.

*Limit of 12 $85 rebates per household for first-time enrollments by a customer. After enrolling, you will receive a confirmation email and an $85 rebate check from Con Edison within six to eight weeks. Rebates are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.
