Scarsdale Transmission Project
Over the next two years, we’re installing and energizing a 36" diameter steel gas main through the Village of Scarsdale. This large-scale project reflects our commitment to maintain a reliable, resilient system that meets the needs of our customers today and in the future.
By replacing aging infrastructure with new, higher-grade steel pipe, we can prevent gas leaks, which reduces the need for lengthy maintenance and ensures our customers receive the continuous gas service they can count on.
Live Along the Project Route? Here’s What to Expect.
We’ll let you know before construction starts near your property so you can make travel and parking arrangements. Look for an email or flyer at your doorstep with details about how construction may affect you or your business.
If you haven’t been receiving our email updates and would like to, please update your contact information in My Account with your current email address and phone number.
You may experience:
- Temporary traffic detours
- Construction noise from jackhammering, digging, placing road plates, and repaving the streets
We will also upgrade some existing customer services along the construction route prior to final restoration. As we upgrade distribution gas mains, we may need to interrupt your gas service temporarily. A Con Edison field representative or contractor will let you know if we need to interrupt your service ahead of time and schedule the work at a convenient time for you.
Crews work on:
- Weekdays: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Saturdays: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on an as-requested basis granted by village officials
