Con Edison Employee from Long Island Wins Con Edison’s Highest Honor
Ruberstein Jean-Louis Earns Award for His Work in Talent Management
A Con Edison talent manager from Dix Hills, N.Y. has won the company’s highest honor for his commitment to excellence and his contributions to organizational development.
Ruberstein Jean-Louis, a senior specialist in the Talent Development department, is a winner of the Living Our Values Award, which is for high-achieving employees who demonstrate stellar character on and off the job.
“I’m honored to be recognized and join the ranks of so many high caliber employees who have won this award before me,” said Jean-Louis, who has worked for the company since 2011. “My job is a labor of love because I get to help colleagues succeed through our initiatives in training, developing, coaching and conflict resolution. Seeing the growth in people is rewarding.”
“Ruben has a charismatic energy that leaves people feeling better about themselves,” said Joan Jacobs, Con Edison's vice president for Learning and Inclusion. “He is a great leader, coach, and source of support.t His enthusiasm, sense of humor and drive for success make others forget about challenges and focus on achieving their goals. That wonderful energy enhances all that he does, and the company is so much better for it.”
Jean-Louis is a 2020 LOV winner. The company held off last year on announcing its annual winners because the Covid-19 pandemic prevented it from holding a traditional dinner and ceremony. The company is honoring its 2020 and 2021 winners at a virtual ceremony this week.
Jean-Louis's contributions include designing the Change Management Life Cycle program, which has become a prototype for making changes within the company.
He is also involved in putting together executive development programs to address change management, establish vision, enhance leadership bench strength, emotional intelligence, employee engagement and action planning.
Jean-Louis participates in a variety of community initiatives, often finding opportunities to enhance the event in some way by using his knowledge and professional experience. His community activities include mentoring youth to enhance their life skills and providing counseling to families to improve relationships.
He is a graduate of the University of Phoenix, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in business management with a focus on leadership, and of New York University, where he earned an associate’s degree in liberal arts.
Outside of work, Jean-Louis is an avid reader of non-fiction and is working to finish writing his first book.
