Con Edison Asks Customers In Parts Of Southeastern Westchester To Conserve, Reduces Voltage 8 Percent

Con Edison is asking some of its customers in the southeast portion of Westchester County to conserve energy while company crews repair equipment. Con Edison has reduced voltage in the area by 8 percent to protect equipment and maintain service as crews make repairs.

The area includes Rye, Rye Brook, Port Chester, Harrison, the Town of Mamaroneck and the Village of Mamaroneck. It covers 40,000 customers.

Con Edison has asked customers in these areas not to use energy-intensive appliances such as washers, dryers, and microwaves until crews complete repairs. The company also asks customers to limit unnecessary use of air conditioning. If you have two air conditioners, use only one and set it to the highest comfortable temperature.
