Con Edison Crews Restore More Than 30,000 Customers
More Than Half Affected by Southeast Brooklyn Outage Are Restored
Con Edison crews have restored power overnight to more than 30,000 customers.
The company expects to have the 21,500 customers now without service restored by this afternoon.
About 14,000 of those customers remaining out are in the southeast Brooklyn neighborhoods of Canarsie, Flatlands, Mill Basin, Old Mill Basin, Bergen Beach, and Georgetown. Approximately 7,500 other customers remain out in the city and Westchester County.
Con Edison Customer Outreach advocates will be available to assist customers in Brooklyn at Jacob Joffe Field at Avenue K and East 58th Street, near Ralph Avenue.
The company is asking customers in the affected communities to continue to conserve electricity even after their power is restored.
