Con Edison Energy Efficiency Group Wins Award for Customer Programs
U.S. EPA Names Company Energy Star Achiever
Con Edison’s Energy Efficiency group has earned recognition for its programs and success in reaching customers.
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency named the group a 2019 ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year and presented the award at a ceremony in Washington, D.C.
Con Edison’s energy efficiency programs provide incentives for customers who make energy-saving upgrades to their homes and businesses. The offerings include programs for every customer group – residential, owners of multi-family buildings, and commercial and industrial.
“We’re pleased with this award because it recognizes the essence of what we do, which is provide our customers with options that can lower their monthly bills and help keep the New York region clean and sustainable,” said Katelyn Tsukada, residential program manager in Con Edison’s Energy Efficiency department. “We continue to refine our programs as technology evolves and creates new opportunities to save energy.”
Since 2009, the company has helped nearly 700,000 customers make upgrades to HVAC systems, lighting and other equipment, saving 2 million tons of carbon emissions.
The EPA said Con Edison’s ability to succeed in difficult markets and its ability to recruit retail partners to work with customers merited the award.
