Con Edison, NYC Department of Sanitation and Lower East Side Ecology Center Dig Into Recycling Event

Con Edison has joined the NYC Department of Sanitation and the Lower East Side Ecology Center (LESEC) to sponsor a “Spring Cleaning” recycling event at the Soundview Composting Facility in the Bronx on Saturday, April 5th and Sunday, April 6th.

This “Spring Cleaning” recycling event encourages city residents to turn in unwanted e-waste, or donate gently-used clothing and linens to local charitable organizations. Computers, monitors, keyboards, mice, televisions, VCRs, copiers and cell phones are common electronic waste or e-waste.

The event will be located on Randall Avenue near the intersection with Rosedale Avenue, near the Bruckner Expressway.  For more information about the event and what will be accepted, visit www.nyc.gov/wasteless (follow the link under "What's New."), or call 311.

E-waste contains materials that can be hazardous if not disposed of properly and recycling them helps protect landfills from electronics waste. Recycling e-waste is a proactive approach on an important environmental issue.
Con Edison’s partnership with the Department of Sanitation and the LESEC is one part of its comprehensive environmental initiatives through EnergyNY, the company's recently announced plan to meet the future energy needs of its customers through infrastructure upgrades and energy efficiency programs.  EnergyNY can be viewed at www.conEd.com/energyny.
